Lunging for Rehabilitation and Fitness
In order to gain maximum benefit from treatment sessions it is important that your horse is worked between treatments in such a way that his muscles are able to strengthen and aid the healing process.
Lunging is an excellent way of achieving this as it enables the horse to work and develop without the hindrance of the weight of the rider.

Lunging and working the horse from the ground provides the important first steps when bringing a horse back in to work especially if the horse has box rested. It is important that a controlled and progressive programme is followed to prevent the injury of weakened muscles.
Penny offers training sessions, either individual or in small groups (maximum of 4) where you can learn how to effectively lunge your horse to develop strength flexibility and fitness.
If time is short, Penny is able to lunge your horse for you either on a weekly or twice weekly basis until pre-determined goals are achieved.
In order to achieve optimum results it is important to follow a progressive programme, which will allow your horse to develop strength and fitness without developing additional problems.
All horses are provided with a weekly step-by-step programme tailored to his specific needs.
